Our Year 5 scientists took over the Secondary lab to carry out a real chemistry experiment. They investigated how temperature affects the rate of reaction by timing how long it took at three different temperatures: cold, room temperature, and warm.
The results were clear – the warmer the water, the faster the reaction.
The children worked brilliantly in pairs, measured carefully, recorded accurate times, and discussed their results – all while wearing proper lab coats and feeling like genuine scientists.
A huge thank you to Dr Sutcliffe and her team for hosting such an engaging session.
