Students in Key Stage 4 took part in a general knowledge quiz on Thursday, 16 October. They faced 80 questions covering a wide range of topics, including science, mathematics, literature, sport, video games, geography, history, and film and television, all to be completed in just 40 minutes.
Sample questions included:
- A scientist named Victor is a major character in which 1818 Gothic novel, subtitled “The Modern Prometheus”?
- Named after a French scientist, what is the SI unit of pressure?
- In Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue, the three starter Pokémon are Bulbasaur, Charmander, and which water-type Pokémon that evolves into Wartortle and Blastoise?
- In which city will the Spanish F1 Grand Prix be held in 2026?
It was a true test of knowledge, speed, and concentration. A tiebreaker question was also prepared in case of a draw: How many centimetres wide is Picasso’s painting “Guernica”?
The results were as follows:

- 3rd place: Nikhil
Congratulations to all participants, and especially to James for taking the top spot!
A special mention also goes to Hugo Rienzi, who earned a certificate for achieving full marks in the video games category. Hugo was the only student to score full marks in any single round.
