Our cultural adventure to #Budapest was packed with unforgettable experiences and eye-opening moments. Students enjoyed a guided tour of Pest, with Heroes’ Square standing out as a powerful historical landmark. Across the river, the Buda Castle tour offered stunning views from Fisherman’s Bastion—plus a well-earned stop at a local ice cream shop! We were fortunate to explore Hungary’s magnificent Parliament building with an excellent guide who brought the history of this iconic structure to life.
The Széchenyi Baths provided a unique opportunity to relax in thermal pools, test out the sauna and ice pool, and even experience the famous beer bath. Our evening cruise along the Danube offered a magical perspective of the city by night. The most sobering part of the trip was our visit to the House of Terror, where we reflected on the brutal impact of Nazi and Soviet rule in Hungary.
A huge thank you to all the students; it was wonderful getting to know you better, and to Dr Sutcliffe, Mr Woolacott, and Ms Heike for making the trip a success.
