On Sunday 30th March, the Year 13 Drama group took their second practical A-Level examination. Alongside an examiner from Pearson, an invited audience watched Ellie, Paula and Millie performing monologues from A Streetcar Named Desire, An Ideal Husband and Chekov's The Seagull, as they showcased their ability to take on a wide range of classical characters. The girls then performed extracts from Shelagh Stepehnson's play Five Kinds of Silence, an incredibly powerful and captivating exploration of a family shattered by violence and abuse. This emotional and thought-provoking play follows the lives of a mother and her two daughters as they struggle to cope with the aftermath of a lifetime of domestic violence. The audience was taken on a journey that is both harrowing and uplifting, exploring themes of love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit.
All 3 girls gave outstanding, mature and extremely impressive performances and are to be congratulated for their hard work and dedication during preparations over the last few months.
