Last Friday, Team EIC travelled to Swans International School to participate in the Costa del Sol Debating Competition. The team of eight (Sonia, Louis, Olivia, Adam, Sara, Kate, Freddie, and Ellie) won the first three rounds, which involved prepared motions on complex topics such as military independence and capital punishment.
After lunch, the team headed to the theatre, where we discovered that we had advanced to the semi-finals. Following a spirited debate on a particularly unusual motion, we emerged victorious and proceeded to the theatre for the final round.
Freddie, Adam, Olivia, and Kate debated exceptionally well, leading to an overall win for EIC! We were thrilled with the result and would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr Edwards and Mr Hickman for their invaluable help and support.
