Year 4 managed a day trip all the way down to Bolonia to visit the Roman ruins of the town of Baelo Claudia. Our minds were blown away by the buildings still remaining and the stories we heard about. Did you know, the more recent village of Baelo was built on top of the Roman ruins?
It took until the 60s and 70s for them to realise there was a whole village buried underneath. The entire new village then had to be relocated away from the Roman site! The children loved imagining how the past could have been.
