I am very impressed with how the Year 7 students are adapting to Secondary school. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of awarding certificates and stars to those who completed the "Protostar Award" over the summer. This award supports Year 6 students in transitioning smoothly into Year 7 by completing Basic and STAR Challenges, which encourage them to go above and beyond in preparation for success in Key Stage 3. Well done to all!
The Protostar Award is designed to facilitate a smooth transition from Year 6 to Year 7 by starting with Basic Challenges before the end of Year 6. The goal is for each student to complete challenges in all subjects. Over the summer, students begin STAR Challenges, selecting at least two subjects of interest and meeting the criteria to earn the award. This initiative encourages students to exceed expectations, preparing them for success in Key Stage 3, with the completed work due upon their return in September 2024.
