Once a fortnight, our Year 6 students are visited by the legendary former EIC teacher, Dr Mike Sutcliffe, who enriches their minds with his fascinating and insightful 'Big Ideas' lectures. Yesterday, we explored various topics, including time travel, the scale of our universe, the fantastic complexity of our brains, the importance of reading, mathematical matrices, and the use of “analogies” to facilitate understanding of large-scale concepts, such as the thickness of our Earth's atmosphere, just to name a few.
Dr. Sutcliffe had the students captivated and buzzing with questions and ideas, and they are certainly eagerly anticipating his next visit!
