The Summer Fiesta returned with a bang after a 3 year hiatus with an event titled “The Best of British.” In recognition of the Platinum Jubilee, students, teachers, family and friends of EIC all came together, donning Red, White and Blue to celebrate not only the jubilee, but the return of a much-loved EIC event.
For many of our younger students, this was the first time that they had ever been on stage with an audience, but they certainly did not let any nerves show! Performing with confidence, panache and sass in abundance, all of the Primary students entertained the audience with their energetic and uplifting performances to songs by the likes of Elton John, Harry Styles, The Spice Girls and Madness, to name just a few.
We were then treated to a plethora of performances from our extremely talented Secondary students. With beautiful renditions of ballads, to tunes that you wanted to rock along with, there was definitely something for everyone! To think that we haven’t been able to perform for such a long time, the quality of the performances was outstanding and we were so proud of each and every student.
The PTA ensured that there was plenty of food and drink to keep everyone full and hydrated and our Year 12’s organised and ran several inflatable activities too. From face-painting to the tombola to ice-bucket challenges and second-hand stalls, you couldn’t help but have a great time. It was so nice to have the feeling of a buzzing campus once again.
The event ended with the much-coveted drawing of the raffle with some amazing prizes on offer.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, bought tickets, came along, supported, clapped, cheered, sang, danced, ate, drank and had a great time! It was a brilliant day and a great reminder of one of the many reasons why EIC is so special.
