Year 9 Biology Students Extracted DNA from Bananas

Year 9 Biology Students Extracted DNA from Bananas

Year 9 Biology students extracted DNA from bananas. This is actually a surprisingly simple procedure and can be done with materials we all have at home in the kitchen. Bananas are a good source material because they are soft and easy to squash and mix with the other chemicals needed. The DNA extracted was white and gloopy and the students were able to collect sticky strands on glass rods.
