The purpose of the Year Rep is to streamline and improve communication between the school and the parent body, raising both academic and pastoral issues. It will also serve to develop better links with the parent body in order to assist students with opportunities both within and outside of the classroom, such as work placements. The Year Reps are responsible for the year group Whats App chat and will assist parents wherever possible with their queries.
Parents can feedback to their Year Rep in preparation for the SLT open feedback forums which are held twice a year and open to all interested parties to attend.
The role of the parent representative will be:
- To ensure that all parents are included on the WhatsApp group chats.
- To attend those meetings where they raise agenda items relevant to their year group or Key Stage (maximum once a month).
- Assist and attend any events hosted by the PTA.
In order to maintain good communication and transparency, the minutes from the open forum will be available on Firefly for all parents to view.
