| STARS IN THEIR EYES |
March 11th, 2002, marked another 'first' for EIC students. Although the idea is not new (as most of you will have heard of this show from television) it was given a rather different and refreshing slant by students from years 7 to 11. Their goal was to plan, rehearse and perform music and dance material which was judged by a panel of representatives from each year group. They were expertly guided and encouraged by Ms. Lucie Willis of the English Department and Ms. Michelle Avery of the Maths Department who co-ordinated the whole event.
Starting at 8pm to a packed house (every seat was sold) the show was hosted by Emma Watkinson, Jessica Barnes and Lee McCarrick who provided introductions and skilful links between each performance. All the performers taking part deserve commendation for their professional efforts and our panel of judges selected the following for special awards: Best Overall Act - Kerry James; Best Voice - Lee Wohlmuth; Best Dance Award - Charlotte Melville, Leigh Linton and Natasha Smyth. Congratulations to you all.
The 400 euros raised will be put towards new equipment to be used for school shows so thank you everyone who attended, as always, we received terrific support.
