SKI TRIP - SIERRA NEVADA - February 2002
This year's half-term ski trip to Sierra Nevada was yet again a great success, all places available were filled and over eighty of us set off from school on Sunday afternoon. Accompanying teachers were Nina, Mr Hickman, Mrs Artacho, Andy and Mr Gardner. For once no kids got lost on the trip and there were almost no injuries, certainly nothing serious.

The hotel 'La General' was very nice, the rooms were comfortable and the food that was served was great.

From 10.00am 'till 4.00pm we all attended ski school, most people, once they had found the right group, enjoyed their ski and snowboard lessons. We all learned something new, even the veterans.

The weather was generally kind to us, the first day on the slopes was a bit foggy and misty, but it soon cleared leaving us in bright sunshine for most of the week with just the odd patch of cloud which would last for an hour or so. Friday morning was a bit cold and windy but it brightened up again in the afternoon.

The only thing we didn't like about the trip was waking up early, as wake up call was 7:30 am. Breakfast started at 8:00 am. However, it was worth it as, once we were finished we could go straight to the slopes and get some good runs in before ski school started.

After a hard days work, the older students went clubbing in the village until the early hours of the morning, no wonder they looked a little sheepish in the mornings.

Overall we thought the ski trip was excellent and definitely would go again next year, congratulations to Simon Hickman for his superb organisation.
