SIXTH FORM SHOW

On the night of the 8th of December 2000 the Sixth Form took to the stage for the now established tradition of the Sixth Form & Friends Show. This year the theme was ‘A Night At The Oscars’ which gave everyone an excuse to wear their best party frocks (although most of the boys opted for suits this year - just for a change).

As we have come to expect, the standard of the acts was first rate and professionalism showed itself throughout. There was some stunning drama from Amy and Lewis; great comedy, a superb mask routine and a positive plethora of dance routines.

Lewis Rossiter seemed to be in every single sketch and I can only assume he must have hired a van for the evening to take all his costume changes home.

One of the funniest things of the night was Laine putting her makeup on with some help from her friends.

Richard Sutcliffe deserves a special mention as the only musician in the show and also fine performances as various dead or about to be dead people.

Terry Nicholas did a superb job directing, ably assisted by Miss Bridget Lyons and Mrs. Lesley Lawrence, extracting the best possible performances from everyone and stitching it all together with the help of some brilliant links in the form of voiceovers supplied by her friend, Jeremy Hitchin.

Although there weren’t quite “thousands watching on video screens in the car park”, the hall was filled to capacity with many standing at the back (probably preferring to do so in order to be first to the bar at interval time).

The mouse was eventually caught but
not before seriously disrupting rehearsals.

Dressing room space
was at a premium.
