SIXTH FORM CHRISTMAS DINNER
Friday 13th December 2002
After the previously hectic week with the show occupying our thoughts, we were all
looking forward to a night out to celebrate when it seemed as though we might have
to call everything off! With two days notice we were informed that the restaurant we
booked had been flooded and were busy rebuilding their floors (I wonder if it had
anything to do with Friday 13th?)but, luckily, they offered us their other venue in
Puerto Banus, much to the delight of most Sixth Formers.
The President of the Sixth Form, Katie Ireland, organised the event with considerable
efficiency: beautifully designed invitations and menus were distributed; money was
miraculously extracted from everyone (the hardest part); the seating arrangements all
carefully planned and splendidly laid out with place names. When everyone arrived
at 8.30, it was obvious that it was going to be a night to remember and we all
thoroughly enjoyed the evening, leaving the restaurant well after midnight. Many of
the Sixth Form will have carried on partying in Puerto Banus but the ‘oldies’ were
safely tucked up in bed by 2.00am.
As I write this, I’m already thinking ahead to next term with the tough examinations
that will shape their futures and, by way of encouragement, it is timely to remind
them of all the very successful ventures they have undertaken so far this year. The
Christmas celebrations marked the last official party before the final run up to exams
and so we end this term on a positive note and one that I am sure will continue into
2003.
