A MOMENT OF SILENCE
Tuesday September 11th is now a date in world history. None of us will forget those news pictures of a plane deliberately crashing in to the World Trade Centre, New York. Our children cannot understand how anybody could plan and carry out such a terrible act.

The following Friday was chosen as the day European countries would have a 3 minute silence to remember all those killed. At 12 noon (European time) the whole college stopped and silence reigned over the campus. The seniors met in the hall and our youngest children sat quietly in their classrooms. Years 3 to 6 gathered in the playground and sat in contemplation with their teachers. We hope that those suffering directly from this atrocity could draw some comfort from the knowledge that during those same minutes so many people were thinking of them.
